ClickBank provides a simple but powerful method for authors of for-sale web content
(such as downloads, eBooks, etc.) to sell online, and get their customers
to pay by credit card. This program (currently known, slightly confusingly,
as ClickBank's "Publisher" program) is not free, there is
a small initial set-up charge, plus they take a proportion of each sale.
Additionally, ClickBank provides a free affiliate opportunity, where you
can link to their various publishers and earn pay per sale
commissions. All then commissions that you earn from your links are combined,
and you are paid upto biweekly by ClickBank (see their site for detailed
information about their payment policies).
Commission rates on products sold through ClickBank can be high, and for
some products can be as much as 75% of ClickBank's net sales price (the
price less ClickBank's own fees and Value Added Tax if applicable).
Also on a positive note: there are a vast range of different products
available in ClickBank's system - and if you look carefully through their
catalog it's likely that you will find at least a few products that tie-in
with your web site content.
One thing that I should point out however, is that ClickBank affiliate
commissions are only paid on products sold through ClickBank. Some
of the publisher-vendors in their market place may accept other methods
of payment, and you don't earn commission on those sales.
