A content site is one which contains information, articles or other content for people to read and view. You could create content on any topic that you like.

You could place affiliate ads around your content, either manually choosing affiliate programs which tie-in with your topic (these tend to perform best), and/or you could use Google AdSense which will automatically pick out ads that tie-in with your site's topic.

If you do create a content site, it can help if you:

Stick to one narrow and clearly defined topic ("niche"). For example, this gives people a reason to visit and bookmark your site.
Offer lots of good quality content. Again, this gives people a reason to visit and bookmark your site. Additionally, having lots of pages and content, gives the search engines more stuff to index, which can increase your traffic.
