Pay Per Lead affiliate programs generate revenue for you, based on
the number of people who sign up for affiliate offers that you are
promoting.
- Most of these types of programs require that you have your own
web site.
- The amount that you receive per lead, varies between different
affiliate programs:
- Leads which require the user enter minimal information,
and are relatively easy for affiliates to get sign-ups for,
such as simple ezine subscriptions, may be worth only a few pence.
- Leads which require the user enter lots of information,
and are relatively hard for affiliates to get sign-ups for,
can be worth a lot more, sometimes as much as several dollars.
These more valuable types of leads may include things like
free-trials with credit card information required, or mortgage
application leads, etc.
- Most pay per lead programs usually have some types of rules
about what kinds of leads are acceptable and counted.
- You are usually not allowed to place text on your site
that asks or incentivizes visitors to sign-up as leads.
However, you may be allowed to choose the type or placement of
adverts, and varying this could improve your results.
- You are usually not allowed to sign-up as a lead yourself.
