TAF Master provides a remotely-hosted tell-a-friend form that you can use on your web pages.
The TAF Master forms include co-registration options (allowing users of the form to sign up for various offers), and these are used by the company to generate revenue. You earn 60% of the overall revenue generated by these offers.
In addition there is a co-brandable toolbar that you can offer to users (also include tell-a-friend), and you can also earn extra by referring other active (very active) webmasters.
The referral program works like this:
- If you recruit a publisher who sends 1,000 unique sends in 30 days, you receive $10.
- If that publisher reaches 40,000 unique sends in 60 days, you receive an additional $90.
- If that publisher reaches 200,000 unique sends in 365 days, receive an additional $150.
While earning up to $250 for referrals is certainly a good thing, I wouldn't bank on finding too many (if any) such webmasters. This is because most webmasters don't have the necessary traffic levels to reach the required numbered of unique sends, and even those who do may not promote the program properly.
The problem with all tell-a-friend programs is that most people visiting an average web page simply will not use the form on the page to tell their friends... they just see and ignore the link.
So what's the solution?
The best answer is probably to build web pages that people really want to send to their friends. This could be postcard like pages, funny pictures, funny (Flash?) animations, jokes, etc. If you can do that, and get decent traffic this program has a lot of potential.
Finally, while I give this a recommended rating, I'll note a few small points:
- As already explained, it's only recommended if you do it right (by building pages people will want to send). That's not the fault of the program: it's up to you to build pages where people will want to use the tell-a-friend forms, rather than just plonk the forms on any old page.
- At the time of writing, we are new to this program,
but we do intend to become active soon.
We therefore haven't been paid specifically for results in the TAF Master
program, but we have been paid by other Focalex programs in the past.
- Update - We signed up for this program,
but didn't become active for quite a long time - a couple of months -
although we intended to become active eventually. Focalex
therefore cancelled the account, but did say that we could sign-up again
when we were ready to become active.
Of course we didn't lose anything -
because we hadn't actually earned anything to lose.
But the moral of this story, is it may be a good idea to sign-up
with this affiliate program only if you're ready to actively
participate.
