In the SiteSell affiliate program (also known as the Five Pillar program), you earn your commission by selling various webmaster and marketing tools.

The amount of commission on each of the products varies, but as some products are subscription-based, you can also sometimes earn commission on renewals of these products (potentially allowing you to earn residual income).

As the audience for the products offered by SiteSell is primarily webmasters and small-business, it will of course help greatly if you can reach these types of readers. The program may not work so well on sites which don't (for example, I don't think SiteSell would be a particularly good match for a celebrity or music web site).

The final way to earn money with SiteSell is through their 2-tier option. In this you earn extra based on the sales generated by other webmasters whom you have referred to their program.

SiteSell is perhaps best known for the affiliate tools that they provide. These include some extremely flexible linking generators, many helpful articles, and even some free eBooks (branded with your affiliate ID) that you can give away

Indeed, one of the best things about this affiliate program is the educational materials that are available free to affiliates. While some of this material does promote SiteSell's own products, there is certainly lots of valuable information that would be useful to any member of any affiliate program. For this reason, and since membership of the affiliate program is of course free, I would recommend whatever the topic of your web site, you consider joining - remember your level of active participation in promoting the products is up to you.
